About Us

 Harford Sports Performance Center was founded in 2010 by Coach Danny Taylor and is American Owned and Operated. We are an Indoor Sports Training and Performance Center in Harford County, MD.

Here is our Story.

  • 2000 – Coach Danny Taylor built a single batting cage in his back yard to train and coach his kids and their teams. As each athlete started to improve as hitters, the word spread and more athletes came to train in the backyard batting cage.
  • 2006 – Coach Taylor moved his operation to the Sandlot Baseball Academy, located at 98 Industry Lane, where he continued to train swing mechanics and expanded to catching, fielding, and pitching, while Coaching the Harford Land Sharks and was the Fallston High School JV Head Coach. After four years working with teams and athletes, Coach Taylor was informed the Sandlot was closing on June 1, 2010.
  • June 3, 2010 – Coach Taylor purchased the Sandlot and changed the name to Harford Sports. Harford Sports Performance Center quickly became the talk of town, packing the field and cages with young athletes and making a difference in Harford County.
  • June of 2011 – Harford Sports began to search for a larger facility to accommodate the rapidly increasing amount of athletes. Property owner Richard Foard teamed up with Harford Sports.
  • August 2011 – Harford Sports relocated to a temporary location at 125A Industry Lane as construction started on a brand new building at 121 Industry Lane Forest Hill, Maryland. 
  • December 1, 2012 – The new Harford Sports Performance Center opened with an indoor turf field, weight room, batting cages, pitching tunnels, and meeting rooms.
  • January 2013 – The temporary facility at 125A was then emptied and remodeled to make the Team Training Annex.
  • November 2013 – Riptide indoor Winter Lacrosse League added.
  • December 2013 – Hickory/Forest Hill Winter Indoor Soccer League added.
  • December 2013 – After Hours Over 30 Mens Lacrosse is added.
  • January 2014 – HS256 is founded for Strength, Conditioning, Speed, & Agility.
  • September 2014 – Baseball and Softball Player Development Programs ( PDP ) are added.
  • January 2015 – Battle Ground Spring Indoor Soccer League is added.
  • June 2015 – Harford Sports purchases After Hours Men’s Lacrosse and After Hours Full Throttle Over 30 Men’s Lacrosse is born.
  • March 2016 – Harford Sports Purchases RipTide Indoor Lacrosse and changes the name to Full Throttle indoor Lacrosse.
  • June 2016 – Renovations to add a 3rd pitching tunnel begins.
  • July 2016 – Renovations to add a 3rd Hitting Lessons Cages begin.
  • August 2016 – Harford Sports now has 3 Pitching Tunnels and 3 Hitting Lessons Cages.
  • September 2017 – University of Maryland Graduate and Minnesota twins draft pick Alex Robinson is added to the staff.
  • October 2017 – Fast Pitch Softball pitching specialist Scott Huff joins the staff.
  • February 2018 – Coach Taylor and property owner Richard Foard are now looking forward to their next project in Harford County; An Outdoor Field Complex.
  • September 2018 – Seattle Mariner draft pick Jamal Wade joins the staff.
  • October 2018 – Renovations begin: New Weight Room, New Paint, Flooring, and a General Makeover.
  • November 2018 – Brand New equipment ordered and installed in the gym featuring Sorinex XL Series Rig (Rack), Sorinex Jammer Arms and rack accessories,  Air Dyne Pro Bikes, Versa Climbers, Functional Movement Equipment, and MORE.
  • January 2019 – Innovative Physical Therapy opens an office inside Harford Sports. FMS, & FCS Testing and taking care of our Athletes.
  • February 2019 – 3 HitTrax Batting Simulators added for enhanced player stats, games, tournaments, and FUN
